I'm going to be deadly honest, I didn't really have any intentions to buy this... however the cash machine I needed to use was inside the shop (only one that dispensed £5 notes). I felt really bad just walking in, using the cash machine and then leaving, especially when the shop was empty and the cashier took that opportunity to have a break, and cut it short because I walked in the shop.
the shops near me sell this obviously, however their copies have only lip-gloss as the freebie (there's three to choose from lip-gloss/eyeliner/mascara) I love my Eyeko eyeliner at the moment, and I don't want anymore lip-gloss. I've been using the same brand mascara for over a year now, so I thought I need to start trying different ones. not really going to complain when I only paid £2 although I do prefer Company magazine.
I do like this mascara, not bad for what I paid, an also it has a mirror on it!! I love things with mirrors. Its got a big enough mirror to help with topping up your mascara or lip-gloss, plus the mascara isn't that bad. You also get a 25% H&M voucher. Shame that my nearest H&M is in Hull!
Flicking through the magazine, I find that you get a tiny smell sample from two of Issy Miyake's fragrances, I had a smell of the one on the left - L'eau D'issey Pour Homme. I think it's down to personal preferences, I usually prefer fruity fragrances, but it is quite nice. It's not too overpowering, I haven't had a sniff of the second one yet.
Another freebie is a small sachet sample of Smashbox's camera ready CC cream, that is going in my sachet tub along with some of my other perfume samples and a BB cream that I got from this months Company Magazine. This magazine didn't really grab my attention the same way Company did.
I did enjoy some of the stories inside it though. after talking about transgender and sexuality at uni today it was interesting to come across Carmen Carrera's story about how she was born a man but ALWAYS been a woman. I found this really interesting, she discusses about finally telling people, especially her then Husband that she wanted to be a woman. I love her mum's reaction when she came out to everyone. Plus she is absolutely gorgeous! I mean serious body envy! and those cheekbones!
I also couldn't help but read Lea Michele's story. I'm not a fan of Glee, personally I can't really stand the programme, but I've always been a fan of her, I think she is very girl next door. After hearing about the tragic death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith, I was curious. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost my partner so early. But she talks about him in the interview etc.... and I love those yellow shoes.
I do have preference to the Company Magazine, but I'm glad I did pick this up because of the mascara... excuse the cat in the photo, he never misses the chance for a photo op. However unless it has someone I love on the front cover and a great freebie (that's the most important) I will stick to just getting Company. All in all not a bad £2 spent. does anybody else have a favourite magazine ?
